Pampering Our Pets: Meet the Dog

Meet Chloe, also known as Chloe the Wonder Mutt. We rescued her from the animal shelter three years ago.

Chloe is a hyper, protective dog who likes to play with the family. She?s Sportsguy?s running partner and our resident doorbell. She?s friendly, but will not tolerate anyone who threatens our family. She also hates the UPS man. I?m not sure what he ever did to offend Chloe, but she doesn?t like him at all.

Like the cats, we enjoy pampering Chloe, too. After all, she protects our family. On July fourth, when the fireworks go off, Chloe dutifully makes the rounds between the kids bedrooms, making sure no harm comes to them. What dog doesn?t deserve some pampering after being so loyal?

PetArmor has been our product of choice in flea and tick prevention. We?ve been using it for a year, and Chloe has remained free of flea and ticks the entire time. I love the fact that it?s affordable, easy to apply, and effective. Even though Chloe runs through the countryside with Sportsguy and camps with our family, she never gets fleas or ticks. Chloe has never experienced any side effects either. We buy our PetArmor at Walmart, where it?s inexpensive, relative to other brands.

We have a little issue with feeding Chloe. Unlike the cats, she is very finicky when it comes to pet food. She?s prone to digestive upset, detests certain brands of dog food, and prefers canned cat food to canned dog food. Don?t ask. Despite her good qualities, Chloe is pretty quirky.

Pedigree sent me a couple of bags of dry dog food. Much to my surprise, Chloe has eaten every dogfood bowl I?ve given her. She?s tolerated it well, too. Chloe has also enjoyed snacking on Pedigree choice cuts in gravy. This surprised me, as Chloe is generally not a huge fan of wet dog food. I guess we know what we?ll be giving Chloe as a treat from now on!

As I mentioned before, Chloe was a shelter dog. Periodically, the kids and I drive to the animal shelter to visit other shelter dogs, even though we can?t adopt another dog right now. My heart goes out to all of the dogs in need of homes.

Pedigree and PetArmor are teaming up this month to help dogs in shelters across the United States. In the moth of May, Pedigree will donate a bowl of dog food* to a local shelter for every Pedigree purchase at a Walmart store. And if you ?like? PetArmor on Facebook, they will donate flea and tick treatment to the participating shelter of your choice.

Please consider helping shelter dogs like Chloe by purchasing Pedigree products at Walmart and liking PetArmor on Facebook. I have a soft spot in my heart for dogs that end up in shelters. And like many business entities these days, pet shelters are strapped for money and can use all the help they can get.

*Up to 100,000 8 oz bowls of dog food to be donated.

**Disclosure: I am a Walmart Mom. This post is sponsored by Walmart. Walmart has provided me with product and compensation in exchange for my time and efforts in creating this post. My participation is voluntary. As always my opinion is my own.
